Happy New Year!! wish ya lots more craftastic-crafting for the new year. ...Keep crafting!
These headbands were made with supplies from the Dollar Tree. I used a hot glue gun to hold things down. Fun and easy to make.
For the 2012 signs: I used paper, a glue stick, marker, glitter glue, and Mod Podge, to seal it in. And, a hot glue gun to attach the 2012's to the wire garland.

Ceramic projects from class
Displayed below are images of ceramic projects I completed this semester in Beginning Ceramics. I am very excited about each one. Please enjoy. Let me know what you think?
Marker Can
It used to hold food. Now it holds my supplies!
Hi Crafters!
It's December!!.. I'm off track from work... I'm home ....and have lots of time to keep my self busy crafting.
This month I have been working on turning food cans into functional art cans. They have been of great use so far for holding markers, scissors, pens, hair clips, jewelry, etc. But can be used to hold other things
Using a clean empty food can I used Glitter Mod Podge, tissue paper, ribbon, and a hot glue gun to create.
I glued down the tissue paper around the can using the Mod Podge. Let it Dry. The blue and green color is the tissue paper. You will notice a difference in the color and texture of the tissue paper react to the Mod Podge, it will become stiff. I painted on yellow and orange flowers with acrylic paint. Let it Dry. Glued down the ribbon with the Mode Podge, wrapping it completely around the can. Added another layer of Mod Podge around the entire can and Let it Dry. And finally used a hot glue gun to attache the bow. And, tada!
Note: Make sure to wrap the tissue paper around the top inner lid and seal it down really well with the Mod Podge, it can be sharp if left uncovered. Or you can hot glue some felt around the inside too.

Grave Yard
Creepy cute grave yard. Made from recycled house items. The tree is made from a brown bag, Mod Podge'd together. The grave stones are felt on one side and pieces of a granola box on the other, the box helps them stand tall. The fencing is also made from the same granola box. And, the foundation is made from an empty CD case painted black. All items were hot glue gunned down for stability.
Make your own! It really only took a couple hours, and that's because I had to wait for the paint to dry. All I want now is a tiny ceramic ghost to float through. =)

Felt Pumpkin Table Topper #2
I had a great time putting this one together. I had originally planned on putting 3 pumpkins. But by the time they were stuffed they were huge and only 2 managed to fit together. This one will sit at home on the coffee table.

Pumpkin Garden Table Topper
Using an old CD case for the base. I hot glued down the felt pumpkins I made earlier in the month and attached 3 fake flowers I painted black earlier this evening. Outlined it all in glitter and Voila! I love it. I'm gonna take it to work with me tomorrow and let it sit on my desk for a few days.

Felt Pumpkins
Inspired by Twig and Toadstool: Felt Pumpkins Check out the link for the tutorial.
These little pumpkins are adorable! I used some scraps of felt to put them together. I also used scrap felt and fabric to stuff them with. The red one is a cherry. The black one is the rotten pumpkin with ghoulish eyes. =)
I really enjoyed searching through the yard for a nice twig to serve as my stem(s). This is a great fall craft and even more so cause you get to use a natural element to enhance the feel.

Book Markers
This weekend I was inspired to make book markers. Using old/free magazines and comic books and clear packing tape. These were lots of fun to make. I used embroidery floss for the tassel at the end.
I even made a wallet from one of the comic books.

Two in the (wax) Water
Colored using wax crayons. I've been inspired by my daytime activities to use more wax colors. It feels good to color a whole page. It's been years since I drew and colored my own page. =) Give it a try! Lemme know how it goes. Feel free to post your creation.
